English as a Second Language P-12 Endorsement Preparation

EKU’s online English as a Second Language Endorsement is a graduate, non-degree granting program that focuses on best practices and promotes the skill sets needed to teach English language learners in a variety of settings. The program meets Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board requirements and prepares educators for new roles and responsibilities.

Students pursuing this option must hold certification in or admission to TEP in Elementary, Middle Grade, or Secondary Education.

NOTE: If you do not hold teacher certification in Kentucky, please consult with your state’s licensing agency to determine whether our program will meet your state’s licensure requirements.

Program Requirements

  • Prospective graduate students must meet the admissions requirements of the Graduate School
  • Certification in or admission to TEP in Elementary, Middle Grade, or Secondary Education
  • Candidates must have earned an overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5 or above
